Core Team Members Let Go as DNN Reorganizes

Posted by Tom on Tuesday, January 09, 2007 to DotNetNuke

In an effort to reorganize for 2007, DNN is transitioning to a one year “term of service” for all leadership roles. As part of this process, current Core Team Members and Project Leads were notified to either accept roles for 2007 or retire “voluntarily.”

I have not seen any public announcements yet as fare as the outcome of this shuffle is concerned. What I did see is the confidential letter by the DNN Corporation sent to John Mitchell, an active member of the community and now former member of the DNN Core Team.

Is this a joke or the first roar of the DNN Corporation? After over 4K posts on the two main DNN forums you are told to deceive the community by stepping down “by personal choice?” While I don’t want to speculate about the details behind John Mitchell’s case, the lack of transparency by the DNN leadership is what really ticks me off. Open source does not seem to equal open communication after all.

What’s your take on this development? Let me know in the comments.
